Artist Bio

Henrik Dønnestad (he/him) is a visual artist, specializing in large-scale abstract and impressionist work.

This show is made up of two series of paintings one called “Wet” and a second called “Yelling”. These works were undertaken simultaneously and as such are being displayed together to reflect the experience of the artist.

Wet is a series of water studies focused on texture, movement, and how light plays through and across water. This work was inspired by a lovely afternoon bath the artist took in a extremely tacky roadside motel on a work trip.

Yelling focuses on unpacking a series of reoccurring nightmares the artist suffered after a particularly devastating Lego tower collapse.
